Otto Hutt is a traditional luxury writing instrument company based near Pforzheim. In consideration of Otto Hutts brand philosophy I worked out this new product line as a freelance designer. For the first time I designed a product that was then being manufactured. A challenge in this project was the realization of my design of the spring-loaded clip. Thanks to my knowledge of production techniques and after talking to the CEO, the production of this part was changed from cnc lathe to cnc milling, making it even more efficient. Shaft and cap are made of solid aluminum. The complex spring clip is organic in form and perfect in function. The hardware components are plated with platinum.
